Key Messages

At all levels of education, there is  an  emerging  sense  of  urgency  which  demands transformational change - change which is driven by global competition and the changing nature of learners and the learning context.  At the same time, these challenges offer powerful opportunities to reframe the future of learning and teaching and to find new ways to address issues of complexity, diversity and immediacy.

Educators breaking away from traditional learning spaces are emphasizing the importance of providing choice, flexibility and relevant learning experiences while integrating today’s technologies into workplaces and social contexts.

Distributed learning answers some of these challenges, offering multiple channels of teaching and learning, combining many forms of distance and face – to – face learning through a rich array of technologies which offer any time, any place learning.
